The Experience

"Thank you! :) Have a nice day!"

This is takeout. We ordered our meals, greeted with a very ethnic accent, over the phone. We then drove across town and into Thomaston to pick up our dinner. We have never had a problem with this place and today was no different. The service was prompt and the entire meal only cost around $15.

When we got home, we busted open the bag which featured a giant smiley face on it. Both the bag and the containers for our food said “Have a Nice Day” on them. It’s cheesy touches like that that make all the difference!

The food is categorically the best Chinese in Rockland. We’ve tried another place and it just doesn’t compare.

My "B" meal. Egg roll, chicken fingers, beef tariyaki, and pork fried rice!

The food here at China Fortune is cooked to perfection. The beef was well-cooked unlike at many Chinese restaurants; the crab rangoon was perfectly crispy, the chicken was moist and delicious.

The egg roll was an egg roll. It tasted like many egg rolls I have had before and that’s a good thing. I’m not one for the more exotic egg rolls, I prefer mine to taste the way I’ve grown accustom to.

And then there was the pork fried rice. The rice at this place is my absolute favorite pork fried rice I’ve ever had.

When we finished our meal, we opened our fortune cookies. Her’s, mine.

The Aesthetic

The boxes say “Have a Nice Day” and so does the bag! The bag even has a smiley face on it! I’d call it ‘pure awesome.’

The Review

Crab rangoons and the rest...

Cost vs. Taste – Since this is easily one of my favorite Chinese restaurants I’ve ever ate at, I can easily say that a $15 price tag is well worth it. “They could charge a lot more for this and I wouldn’t feel ripped off!”

Portion Sizes – They’re standard for other Chinese restaurants. “Fair for the price.”

Quality of Service – The service is always prompt and courteous.

Aesthetic – The reason to go here is exclusively for the food. There are places to eat inside the restaurant, but there’s no theme and there’s satellite TV in the dining area. But when you get takeout, you get the bag with the smiley face! “My judgement: ‘Have a nice day’ is all you need.”

Summary – The food is superb and in the Rockland area it cannot be matched (well, for Chinese takeout, anyway)! Go there. It’s awesome.
